Realz (aka RLZ) – GLOWING

RLZ aka Realz has been one of the leading lights in grime for many years now, and first gained notoriety as part of the grime collective Mucky Wolfpack back in 2007. RLZ has been releasing monster track after monster track ever since and can often be heard tearing down radio sets all over the airwaves.
Junior Akerele, a.k.a. RLZ, was born on the 22nd October 1990 in East London. RLZ took inspiration from hip hop greats like Tupac and Jadakiss while growing up, and began writing lyrics at the tender age of 14.

By 17, RLZ had forged his own lyrical style and was beginning to attract the attention of UK urban music veterans such as Wiley and God’s Gift. It wasn’t long before RLZ’ name started making huge waves on the underground circuit, resulting in appearances on national radio shows including the Tim Westwood Rap Show.

RLZ was finally ‘discovered’ on You Tube in 2007 by Ashley Walters, grime scene legend and co-founder of AD82 Productions, a talent management and film production company. RLZ was promptly signed to AD82 and spent the next couple of years with his head down studying ICT and Music, recording fresh songs for the release of his highly anticipated debut EP and…wait for it…filming his first music video, GLOWING, in Capetown, South Africa.

GLOWING , and GLOWING REMIX ft. Giggs and Ashley Walters, will be released on 01.11.10.

ARTIST:       PETER JACKSON ft SIZZLA
SINGLE:      “MISS RIGHT”
LABEL :       RICHMOND STREET RECORDS
RELEASE:   6TH DECEMBER 2010

CANADA’S LATEST EMERGING HIPHOP FORCE PETER JACKSON PUTS DOWN A STRONG MARKER WITH HIS DEBUT UK SINGLE “MISS RIGHT” FEATURING SIZZLA
There can be little doubt that the past couple of years have finally witnessed Canada develop its traditionally strong underground hiphop scene dating back to the days of Maestro, Rascalz and Choclair to global recognition in the form of Drake, Kardinal Offishal and K’Naan.
While Toronto may remain at the core of the industry, other areas have begun to enjoy recognition in the form of Classified from Nova Scotia and now Oshawa’s Peter Jackson.
The relative proximity of Ontario to the hub of major US cities such as Chicago and Detroit has played its part in Canadian hip hop history, none more so in the case of Jackson.  Oshawa and Detroit not only share the distinction in being the HQ’s for General Motors in their relative countries, but have seen their top local hip hop artists work together, specifically Peter Jackson with Naughty By Nature, Royce da 5 9 and D12. A close bond has been built in the past few years with these artists and their respective organizations resulting in several tours and recordings.
Peter Jackson and his Team 90 Nickel have developed a strong infrastructure handling music promotions, releases and a clothing line which has projected the artist on a national scale. As a prominent hip hop figure he has toured the country in support of Wu Tang, Busta Rhymes, Akon, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and opened for Naughty By Nature for 12 dates and on the “Never Say Never Tour” with D12, Royce da 5 9, Joe Budden and Classified.
In 2008 he began working with producer Sheldon Moore (Citizen Kaine, K-OS, Big Pun, Jahiem) with the resulting The Introduction EP featuring JMore, Toya Lexus and Royce da 5 9. Moore is the producer of Miss Right.
Having signed a new management deal and working with the Richmond Street label, the 25 year old has subsequently recorded his debut album “In My Life” with features from Classified, Naughty By Nature, Royce da 5 9, Die Mannequin, Joell Ortiz and T-Minus. Also from this album is the track “Miss Right” featuring Sizzla
Miss Right has an instantly memorable hookline courtesy of Sizzla matched by a super smooth rap delivery from Jackson. The beat has a red hot mix of hiphop and Caribbean flavas with top drawer production. While making the accompanying video in Jamaica recently, Sizzla invited Jackson down to the legendary King Jammy’s studio in Kingston. While playing a track from his new album, he saw Jackson vibing off the beat and then insisted he jump in the booth to drop some fire, so a further collaboration was locked down.
The pair spent 3 days together shooting scenes for the video from the ghettos of Kingston to the mountains and beaches of Ochos Rios.
With UK remixes provided Rockswayer and Kader as well as a drum & bass refix from D-Region, it’s a phenomenal introduction into the UK market and further evidence of the strength of the Canadian scene.

Chase and Status. The Patrick Chase Show

How many artists / producers can count Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and Pharell as fans as well as drum and bass’ finest Andy C, Hype and Pendulum; enjoy heavy rotation in the hands of dub-step royalty such as N-Type and Skream; and have each release enthusiastically supported by Annie Mac and Zane Lowe? This is what Saul Milton and Will Kennard, producing under the name Chase & Status, have achieved in 5 years, and the highlight of their young career so far has been their debut LP ‘More Than Alot’ which has helped turned them into a unique urban phenomenon, and the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground since Pendulum.

They met at Manchester University through their mutual love of drum and bass in the mid nineties and have DJ’d ever since, waiting until 2004 for their first production, a remix for Future Cut (better known these days for their production work with Lily Allen). It was followed by a series of drum and bass anthems for the biggest underground labels including ‘Duppy Man’ for Breakbeat Kaos (home of Pendulum’s platinum selling debut album) in 2005 and ‘The Druids’ EP for DJ Zinc’s trendsetting Bingo label a year later. Their production work for Jenna G’s ‘In Love’ the same year earned them their first award, ‘Best Single’, as voted by over 40,000 listeners for the BBC 1Xtra Drum & Bass Awards.

Verbal Kent

ARTIST:                             VERBAL KENT
NEW AA SINGLE:            EXAMPLES ft Lance Ambu / NOW
LABEL:                              BARE vs DEAR
RELEASE:                          Out Now
WEB:                                 verbalkent.com | myspace.com/verbalkent

It’s been 4 years since Chicago’s Verbal Kent blessed the UK with an official release.  His last single the massive ‘Dead Serious’ featuring Ill Bill was taken from the critically acclaimed album ‘Move With The Walls’ and now with the new double A side ‘Examples ft Lance Ambu /Now, one of hip hop’s hardest workers is back.

However his string of critically acclaimed singles and albums may not have seen the light of day as the rapper’s near death experience shortly after his debut release, saw an attempt on his life. His throat was slashed in an alley near his home, the wound just missing his jugular vein by centimeters. Surviving the attack Kent went on to use his music as a source of therapy, helping him to create new music. His stage persona has been taken from the notorious Verbal Kent character narrated by Kevin Spacey in ‘The Usual Suspects’.

Kent explains, “I rap for my own good. I rap to release all pressure and all that is uneven. It is and has been my resource for dealing with many realities that can’t be addressed and dealt with in any other way…or at least for me. I’ve been through a lot of positive and negative, and I’m no fool. I feel strong in knowing that I’m gonna be ok”.

The double A side single ‘EXAMPLES’ ft Lance Ambu has been produced by Illmind and ‘NOW’ has been produced by the UK’s own Kelakovski. The release is the first offering from the new album ‘Save Yourself’ which will be released in the autumn. Featuring on the album are production cuts from hip hop heavyweights Pete Rock, Marco Polo, M-Phaze and Ill Mind and featured guests Masta Ace, Sadat X, Edo G, One Be Lo and Pete Rock.

Verbal Kent has built continually with the overseas community via various European tours, and notably a UK tour in 2006 in support of the ‘Move With The Walls’ album, developing huge respect for his rhyme skills, subject matter, energetic live performances and work with a series of renowned hip hop producers.  His UK collaborations include Blade, Phi Life Cypher, Sonny Jim and Soweto Kinch, while his live and recording work Stateside reads like a “Who’s Who” of the hip hop world, including KRS-1, GZA, Sean Price, Cypress Hill, Redman, Mr Lif, Little Brother, Masta Ace, Pharcyde, De La Soul, Sadat X….

Working mainly with Chicago’s Gravel Records since 2003, Move With The Walls was followed by the album ‘Giraffe Nuts: Eat Them’ in 2007 before switching briefly in 2008 to Molemen Records for Fist Shaking. He rejoined Gravel once more for ‘Brave New Rap’ in 2009.  Now on his own Bare vs Dear imprint for the new single and album, this prolific output has kept him at the forefront of the international hip hop community, culminating in recent features for magazines such as XXL.

The new single, with accompanying video for ‘NOW’, is a typical example of his consistent level of high quality hip hop in his wordplay over superior beats, the perfect blend of vocal skills and music.  There has been great anticipation already from many of the key tastemakers in the UK community, and combined with a planned tour of the country in the autumn in support of the new album and a new Pete Rock produced single, Verbal Kent can look forward to a warm welcome from many old friends this year.

the First Album From All Three Original Members in Over a Decade.

MP3 Download: “Get To Know Me Better (Ecstasy Mix)” feat. Pitbull

http://www.zshare.net/audio/7620279718efe5bf/

Grammy award-winning group Naughty By Nature is set to return to the Persian Gulf for a USO Tour. The original line up of Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee recently performed for US troops in Iraq and Kuwait (pictured) and have been asked to return after an overwhelming response to their live show that features classic hits like “O.P.P.,” “Hip Hop Hooray” and “Jamboree” as well as previews of the forthcoming album Anthem Inc. This time around, they will be joined by MTV’s Sway.

Vin Rock states, “I’m excited to support our troops again by touring with the USO.  We enjoyed ourselves the previous trip, learned alot and were happy we could put smiles on the troop’s faces.”

With Anthem Inc. dropping later this year, Naughty By Nature has released the first single titled “Get To Know Me Better” featuring Pitbull. Stations across the country have begun to put the track in rotation, and the newly released Ecstasy Mix is sure to heat up the dance floor this summer.

When not touring, Naughty By Nature are in the studio putting the final touches on Anthem Inc.- the first album featuring all three original members since the gold-certified Nineteen Naughty Nine: Nature’s Fury (1999, Arista Records). The new outing will continue the hardcore sentiments and hand-raising anthems that pushed them into the pop mainstream world almost two decades ago, all the while keeping their street credibility.

“This new album is definitely gonna take you back, but just like we always did, we’ve invented a new sound, a bunch of new flows and after being without an album for so long, we’ve gotta lotta things to say,” proclaims Treach.

Realism – New 2010 version!!- Whatever It Takes-produced By Incredubwoy of FirstLoveMusikSpeech Debelle feat Realism AKA Incredubwoy

2009 Barclaycard Mercury Prize Winner, Speech Debelle returns with Spinnin, the purest pop moment from her widely acclaimed debut album, Speech Therapy. Out on Big Dada on 14th September 2009.Produced by Tunng mainman Mike Lindsay, Spinnin is a hugely catchy singalong of a tune, a feelgood route into the sometimes dark and emotional world of Ms Debelle.
That’s not to say the girl sacrifices any of her lyrical intelligence. Her words are packed with barbed one-liners, clever asides and great imagery. The press has been quick to proclaim her a star in the making and on Spinnin she takes the opportunity to shine. The world most certainly keeps spinning for Speech Debelle. In the last few weeks she has featured three times on the BBCs Glastonbury coverage, had her photo on the front page of The Independent, been interviewed for major features in the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Times, appeared on BBC1s breakfast telly couch and insured that her rise from hostel dwelling and bad deeds to articulate, honest and abrupt pop star has become the biggest story of the Mercury season. And believe us, people, shes not stopping now!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….ALICIA KEYS
The Key to success

Since songwriter, pianist, singer and producer Alicia Keys first exploded onto the music scene in 2001 she has proved that she is more than talented – she is gifted.

Alicia Keys is now as much of a global superstar as she is a musician’s musician. She has collaborated with the world’s biggest rapper Jay-Z, written hits for Whitney Houston’s recent comeback album, held her own on stage dueting with everyone from Lou Reed and David Bowie to Chris Martin and Annie Lennox; and has even been dubbed ‘the girl who made Bob Dylan weep’ after being immortalized by him in the title track of his 2007 released album ‘Modern Times’.

With Keys exploding onto the music scene with her debut album ’Songs in A minor’, back in 2001, clocking up 10 million sales worldwide, we were treated to her unique fusion of soul, hip hop, jazz and classical style with a splash of effortless cool. With her eclectic background, born and bred in New York’s notorious Hell’s Kitchen to being educated at Professional Performing Arts school and briefly attending Columbia University, she is a true success story, only achieved through hard work, ambition and steely determination to better herself. With every album she has released her sales have risen at an enormous rate and her profile along with it. With awards coming in abundance, including  twelve Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, three World Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, three MTV Europe Awards, two Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards, three BET Awards, fourteen NAACP Image Awards, seven Soul Train Music Awards, two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, two People’s Choice Award, one My VH1 Award and more, she is certainly getting the acknowledgement she deserves.

‘THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM’ is the follow up to Keys’ multi-platinum selling 2007 album ‘As I Am’, which featured the Grammy Award winning global smash ‘No One’  as well as hit singles ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’,  ‘Teenage Love Affair’ and ‘Superwoman’.  Alicia describes ‘THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM’ as a dichotomy of strength and vulnerability: “The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate.” In addition to her long time producer Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, Keys enlists the production talents of Jeff Brasker (Kanye West, Keri Wilson) amongst others on her forthcoming fourth studio album.

As well as being an amazing songwriter, Alicia has a talent for performing, drawing you in to her world and making you listen and watch her every move, live, she quite simply stands alone. In the words of The Times: “a combination of razor-sharp musical instincts and consummate showmanship… A supreme musical talent and a personality as bold as the best. Keys has got the lot. (5/5 stars)”.

Gaining high praise from all levels of the media has boosted Alicia’s popularity within all sectors of the community, making her cross over from just being an ‘urban’ artist and becoming an inspiration to all.

The longevity of her career is a testament to her immense talent, with aswell as her musical achievements, Keys is also a New York Times best-selling author. In 2005, Penguin Group USA published Tears for Water: Songbook of Poems & Lyrics, a book of original poetry and lyrics from Keys’ first two albums. In 2004, The New York Daily News appointed Keys as a travel correspondent. Each month she chronicled the sites and experiences of her summer world tour, which included a performance at The Great Wall of China. In 2006, Alicia completed her first marathon, which she proudly ran in the birthplace of the sport – Greece. Also, the siren and Robinson have co-developed and co-written an original series for the CW Network entitled “Zora,” which is scheduled to hit the tube later this year. Zora, the first production from their jointly owned production company Big Pita, Lil’ Pita (BPLP).

With all of these achievements under her belt Alicia shows no signs of slowing, with her visiting the UK in May this year as part of her latest European tour. This will be the singer, songwriter, musician, actress and philanthropist’s first in the UK since her critically acclaimed As I Am Tour in 2007.

We are sure that this will be a huge success, as has everything that Miss Keys has put her mind to, a true inspiration, showing that if you believe you can achieve, it just takes a lot of hard work!

Keep  A Child  Alive

In 2002, Keys joined this non-profit organization dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment to children and their families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and the developing world.

She and KCA have set a goal to increase the 17 percent of Sub-Saharan Africans who are receiving treatment to 72 percent — the total of people who desperately need the AIDS treatment. Shortly after becoming involved with KCA, she was named ambassador and co-host and musical director of the annual Black Ball, a benefit to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and raise funds for the charity. Over the last three years, Keys has brought together musical luminaries such as Bono, Kanye West, Damian Marley, Fela Kuti, David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz, Angelique Kidjo, John Mayer, Paul Simon, Nas, Common, and John Legend to help raise AIDS awareness and funds which provided ARVs to those desperately in need, help build clinics, pay for hospital staff, food and even care for orphans of the pandemic.

Jelluzz

Kix: Welcome to KIX MAG Jelluzz. Where you from in north London and what does the name Jelluzz represent?
Jelluzz: I’ve lived and moved all around North London, i’ve always lived on the Northside and have been residing in Tottenham for a large chunk of my life. My name Jelluzz came from a few places, but I took it on because I want people to tap into my music with the same power as an emotion.

Kix:  The track titled, ‘it’s my city’, it has some impressive visuals in it. Who’s helping you with the filming, directing and editing?
Jelluzz: Hold tite Kash Kreative for the “Its my City” vid they went bonkers with the visuals and it turned out incredible. My video shoots are always fun its defo a perk of the job.

Kix:
All right, I want to know how you felt when you released ‘happy mealz’ back in 06’? You had exposure on MTV, Choice fm, young voices mag.  How did life change for you during that time period?
Jelluzz: To be honest I dont think I was prepared fully for what the video through up for me, I wish I had a  better structure in place where I could have utilized the different opportunities that came out of it. I’ve got a strong team now so all the avenues are getting explored to the max, shout out to Big Deal.

Kix: So why the gap between 07’ and 09’ ?  What have you been focussing on, it that time?
Jelluzz: To be honest as an independent artist its inevitable that you get wrapped up in real life struggles and sometimes the need to keep my head above the water outweighed getting studio time and wrapping up new stuff. But I have struck a nice balance where I can push it to the limit now with no interruptions and still maintain.

Kix: So besides from the music. What other interests do you have, that most people wouldn’t expect from you?
Jelluzz: I have a degree in Film and Television, that probably relates to the last question abit, what was I doing between 07 & 09? Getting a degree.

Kix: What’s your 5-year plan?
Jelluzz: If I was to break down my whole 5 year plan I might need 5 pages but to keep it brief, I want to fulfill my potential and be at the top of the game or thereabouts.

Kix: What’s your advice and warnings to anyone who wants to enter the music game?
Jelluzz: Have a vision, stick to your guns, learn from your mistakes and never give up.

Kix: Is there anyone in particular you want to give a shout out to? Jelluzz: Theres a whole bunch of people but shout out to Big Deal first and foremost cause that’s the foundation.

Kix:What’s your contact info for anyone who wants to find out more about you and what your up to? Are there any tour dates, up and coming shows to look out for?
Jelluzz: I’ve been doing a whole bunch of shows up and down the country getting it popping, my myspace always has show updates so google me and get involved. If you want to contact me just add me on Myspace, Facebook or Twitter and holla me direct I always make time to reply.

Kix:
How do you get your KIX?
Jelluzz: The opposite sex + making good music + KFC = KIX for days!

Clement Marfo & the Frontline

Kix: Welcome to Kix Mag guys. First and most obvious question is, ‘How was your Christmas day and New Year’s Eve celebration?
Clement Marfo:
Happy New Year and all! All is well, holidays was
all about spending quality time with family and friends. Best time to do so. The last couple of months have been hectic and non-stop work so it was sweet to just relax, put on a couple of pounds and end the year on a high!

Kix: Ok, so here we are now in 2010. We’re already
almost a month, into the new calendar. What’s been going on since the 1st January, and can you give KIX readers a brief summary, of what you got planned for 2010?
CM:
Time flies by indeed! Next you know it; we’ll be all shopping for Christmas presents again (laughs). Well, all of us have been eager to get back into work as the end of 2009, as it was non-stop work in the studio so now we are back in the swing of things; we’ve been working on building a catalogue of music and performing live frequently.
First gig this year was I LUVLIVE at Proud Camden, a very solid start to the year. Full on energy! The plan for the rest of 2010 is to continue to keep the ball rolling, continue to deliver music that will hopefully make contribution to our debut album and as you know to keep performing across the country and Europe! Coming to a city near you…

Kix: There are 7 members to your team, that means, 7 separate personalities. How do you guys collaborate, with the music you are making, and then agree, when the track is ready?
CM:
Phroar! Tell me about it… I’m not going to lie, having separate personalities can be stressful as there are several opinions for what is best for the subject matter, but on the other hand it brings out the best out of all of us and a sense of quality control is met. Obviously there are stronger personalities than others, but our individual taste and ideas help to make our music so unique and of which appeals to a wide audience. Pretty much there are like seven steps of approval before a track is finalised, in which we are all happy for the world to hear it!

Kix: Explain the work ethic of the group? I notice there are a lot of live melodies involved.  Obviously you each have to juggle a social life, so what I want to know is, how do you all find time to get together and create, the music you are producing?
CM:
The work ethic collectively is incredible! We are like a mini record label, in which we all play several roles to attempt to fulfil the responsibilities you would need at major record company. I wish we were somewhat documented everyday to see the ins and out of the contribution we all put into this. Someone actually asked me the other day actually ‘Do you like ever sleep, rave, and go out with friends…?’ I giggled it off. Somehow we all find time to have a social life. We’ve all sacrificed a lot of personal agendas to make time to do what we love and produce and also perform music. The likes of Luke and Gavin who are the team leaders, organise and communicate effectively and make sure everything away from producing music is in order and that all the band members are in a comfortable state of mind to create.

Kix: Best moments of 2009?
CM:
2009 was a progressive year for us all. Towards the end of the year, we hooked up with Coda Booking Agency, hooked with Jemma Crowe of Core Entertainment who is now our manager, introduced to Matt Marston and Rob Wells who we have been working closely on our debut album and constantly delivering top notch production, we picked up a lot of label interest which was all motivating for us and now we are all eager to make the upcoming year a success.

Highlight of 2009: There were certainly a few, but I personally think it was the FINLAND TOUR – we met so many interesting folks, introduced our music to a whole city and established a number of new enthusiastic fans overseas! I can only hope and pray many more highlights to come in this new year!

Kix: The talent in the UK is really bubbling at the moment. There’s a lot of fresh new talent breaking into different spotlights all across the stage. How do you ‘Clement Marfo and the Frontline’ want to be recognized and what category would you class yourselves?
CM:
I’ve always dreamt of the days we are living in. For years, as a unit of British music artists we have been pushing for the big corporations, the radio, and the media to pay attention and now they have caught on and supported home-grown, it is evident the success is being noticed worldwide. The new talent is totally refreshing and we are more than pleased to come under the bracket of one to watch!
Clement Marfo & The Frontline we want to be recognised to be one of the best bands to come out of United Kingdom, consistently delivering chart music and showcasing an exceptional live performance oozing with a zest of raw energy! Not only do we make music for our own kind, we make music for all of y’all! If a band of different cultures, races, gender, opinions can all get along to make timeless music, we can be an example to many people across the globe.
VOTE Clement Marfo for Prime Minister (laughs)

Kix: Want to share New-Year’s resolutions?
CM:
Personally I have a problem with time-keeping. I’ve always been disciplined with time but last year was pretty bad, I was late for nearly everything. So this year I want to make sure I am on time (or early) for any scheduled appointment. I think I can speak for a lot of the readers (hehe)

Kix: For those readers who want to stay-up to date with your progress, concerts dates, and to contact you directly, how can they do this?
CM:
Everything you will need, shall be on www.clementmarfo.com
Link to our Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/clementmarfo

Link to our Youtube channel: www.youtube.com/marfomedia
Plus Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, SoundCloud… we are everywhere. Google.com (smiles)

Kix: What’s the newest track you guys are cooking up? Can you give KIX readers any clues? Want to give a few shout out’s?
CM:
Damn, theres a ton of tracks coming in left right and centre.
“CHAMPION” is a track I would like everyone to pay attention to.
Personally pumps me up after a listen, so I would like everyone to share the energy I feel for it. There’s a new track called “Kings & Queens” I’m currently writing to. Stay tuned! We always find ways to update you all, visually or by Twitter so keep a look out!
-Ah big ups, (yikes) I think I bigged up everyone throughout the interview. Firstly big up ya chest Kix Mag always delivering sweet articles of fresh talent and who’s hot at present. Much love to my family members; The Frontline, Mel Redmond, Thomas Sanderson (Damn, I better scribble these names down before I forget some at future award shows) (laughs). Big shout out to every single individual that has supported the music and a warm welcome to all the new supporters.

Kix: How do you get your KIX?
CM:
A few shots of Sambuca to start off the night (laughs)
Nah., I’m playing… http://www.kixmagazine.org.uk is where’s it’s at! (by the way I like the way you present the online mag by PDF. Cool ish! Real Recognise Real.

Dame Dash rise & fall

Who remembers the years Roc-A-Fella was the industry’s “dream team” with a starting
line-up consisting of Jay-Z, Kanye West, Twista, Beanie Sigel, and New York’s own The Diplomats… Not to shabby right? Dame Dash recently spoke out to various media outlets about how he feels about the direction Roc-A-Fella has taken several years later. Dash stated that his feeling towards the trajectory Roc-A-Fella has taken is bitter-sweet. Although he’s clearly not steering the reins of the company any longer, it troubles him to see Roc-A-Fella slowly deflate. “I have love for everybody really, but sometimes people do things that are uncharacteristic of what I thought they were” says Dash. It’s rather shocking to see an individual who basically had a project they were dedicated to for ten plus years get taken from them, yet still have nothing but congenial things to say.

It seems the individual he’s most proud of since the part is clearly Kanye. He stated he’d always admired Kanye’s hustle and work ethic he bears day in and day out. The sneaker deal he landed with Louis Vuitton was extremely impressive seeing how the French culture generally never treads outside their native market. He also stated he wishes he could advise Jim Jones and Cam’ron to better the situation their involved in with the odious break-up of The Diplomats. “I just wish him [Cam’ron] and Jim could work things out. Just looking at how much money me and Jay messed up.” At the end of the day, Dame isn’t catering to “beef” or anything else that doesn’t support a positive message, or gaining revenue. He admits he still has love for everyone, and if anyone needed his help he would surely offer.

It seems all the success and accolades Roc-A-Fella achieved came at a very high price, destruction. A versatile family serving both the hood and the hipsters made them virtually untouchable. Their legacy will live on forever throughout each radio station, iPod, DJ, and fan of great music. As for Dame Dash, he hasn’t missed a beat as he’s currently building his second empire catering to not only the musical medium, but art, magazines, and film. The future is bright for any individual whom has the will and drive to be successful. The key is are you willing to work for it? Dame did.
