Chipmunk face of campaign

In 2009 adidas Originals has celebrated 60 years of soles and stripes, which makes it only fitting that they’re finishing the year on a hi-top with Foot Locker. Two iconic styles from the adidas Originals archive – the Top Ten and the Nizza – have formed the basis of this exclusive collection in stores now with brand new colourways to excite those who live by the ethos: ‘It’s A Sneaker Way of Life’.

Rising hip-hop star Chipmunk is the face of the campaign, starring in Foot Locker windows nationwide. Fresh from his number 1 chart success in the UK singles chart with ‘Oopsy Daisy’, double MOBO award winning Chipmunk has embraced his passion for street style in the campaign, which will showcase the Top Ten hero style of the collection.

On Friday 11th December, Foot locker’s flagship Oxford Street store hosted a video confession booth where the biggest sneakerheads around – including star of the campaign chipmunk – recorded their deepest and darkest sneaker confessions! After his therapy session, Chipmunk stuck around to meet and greet his excited fans, singing adidas originals sneakers and posters.

Every sneaker junkie who made a video has been automatically submitted into a prize draw to win 10 pairs of adidas originals trainers of their choice, plus exclusive signed Chipmunk merchandise.

The adidas Top Ten has been a seminal sneaker for ballers and style hunters alike since its release in 1979, and the return of the shoe for its 30th anniversary will see it complete its move from the courts to the streets.

The Foot Locker exclusive designs include a black premium leather style featuring a white stitched midsole off set by a red and black tartan ankle collar and an embossed tongue tag with the 30th Anniversary logo – hitting all the right notes for the new season. Another reworking of the Top Ten features a combination of premium black leather in contrasting matte and patent styles, set off with a bold white trim and a traditional Top Ten tongue tag.

The other hero of the collection is the Nizza. The simple silhouette, first introduced in the 70’s, has been a key piece in the adidas Originals catalogue ever since. Its latest reincarnation, exclusively styled for Foot Locker, is available in black, brown and grey and is created in a variety of buttery leathers and premium quality suede.
